* Features:
Combines the quadruple functions of suction, electrocoagulation, curetting
and dissection.Eliminates the need for frequent instruments changes during
operations,and thus,saves operation time, reduces Haemorrhage, and greatly
improves the quality of operations.
It also sucks out harmful plume produced during electrocoagulation,to the
benefit of health of the medical staff. It is particularly suited for operations
of lymphonode dissection, cholecystectomy, hepatectomy, retictoperitoneal tumour
resection,thyroidectomy, mastectomy, etc.
* Instillation :
Suction pipe is connected with suction apparatus through tube, and switch can be
controlled automatically, or by the operator himself. Wire is connected with
electrosurgical generator, such as Force2, Aspen, Birtcher 4400, Siemens, Hutong, etc.
PMOD II uses three-pin plug, and is applicable to almost all kinds of electrosurgical
generators. Even if slightly inapplicable, adjust the distance between three pins
slightly and then plug again into socket.
Operation tips:
* Suction pipe is connected by a short segment of corrugated soft tube to the snout of PMOD.
* Operator can switch for electrocoagulation or electric cutting by pressing buttons with
thumb or index finger.
* Cutting skins and peritoneum, then getting into abdominal, cavity removing or withdrawing
electric blade.
* While electrocoagulation, use bevel edge to contact tissue.
* While dissecting, assistant must maintain tension on the tissue being dissected by
pulling away to both sides.
* While curetting and dissecting, electric cutter is not electrified.
* Elentrocoagulation is usually used in the abdomen, no matter what is used
for electrocoagulation or electric cutting. Electrocoagulation power is used adjustably.
When power is not enough, electrocoagulative effect is not satisfactory and power
shall be adjusted to higher than 60-80W, even as high as 120W during
transacting liver parenchyma.
