hard copy but instead, information is stored via diskettes, CDs, videotapes etc.
How does one protect this treasure of information stored from being destroyed
by fire? Fire not only affects the operations of an enterprise, but its ultimate
survival or even collapse. More importantly, failure to safeguard this
information may even lead to another set of social
problems with devastating consequences.
Amongst the various forms of storage media, diskettes measuring 3.5”
are not only the most commonly used, but also the most sensitive and vulnerable.
Any temperature above 52℃ will damage the diskette within a few minutes,
thereby causing total loss of information stored. Even direct sunlight or
water spillage can cause permanent destruction of stored data.

fire testing at 1000℃ burning continuously for 1 hour, the internal
temperature of the Data FRC was only 33.3℃. After the test, data stored
